Xavier Martinez Garcia

Researcher at the International Center for Numerical Methods in Engineering (CIMNE), professor at the Barcelona School of Nautical Studies (FNB-UPC), member of the board of the Spanish Association of Composite Materials and editor of the journal "Materiales Compuestos".

Leader of CIMNE's group on composites and advanced engineering materials, his expertise is in numerical methods applied to the analysis of structures and materials. He has participated in 23 R&D projects, 9 of them EU-funded, CIMNE acting as coordinator in 4 of them. Author of 27 publications in peer-reviewed journals and of more than 50 presentations in international conferences.

Daniel Sá López

MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering by the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) and MBA by EAE Business School. Associate professor in the Master's degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering in Facultat Nàutica de Barcelona (FNB). Currently working at CompassIS as senior engineer, with 15 years of experience and specialization in consulting services and project management for engineering design, as well as in the development and commercialization of software for Computer Aided Engineering (CAE).

Expertise in structural analyses, multi-physics, sea-keeping and hydro-dynamic simulations, by means of Finite Element analysis (FEA). Widely experienced in providing software training, technical support and assessment on CAE software and FEM/FEA.

Ample experience in the participation in R&D projects of national and international scope.
