LCA Inventory Visit at 10 XL
The team from Lodz University of Technology continues its Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) inventory visits to the industrial partners of the FIBRE4YARDS project. The third visit took place in April 2022 at 10XL's facilities in Dordrecht, the Netherlands.
Gerbert Smits and Joep Grapperhaus (both 10XL) presented the 3D printing and AFP (Automated Fiber Placement) technologies used in FIBRE4YARDS. Ireneusz Zbicinski and Monika Pietrzak (both from Politechnika Łódzka) gathered LCA-relevant information, such as the origin of the raw material compounds (mostly from post-consumer waste), the energy demand of each process stage (including hydrogen welding), as well as water and air consumption. The team from Lodz also experienced an impressive 3D printing demonstration by 10XL’s industrial-scale robots.
