Spotlight on the assessment of advanced FRP manufacturing and joining technologies
The consortium partners have finalised the mapping of current FRP manufacturing and connection technologies before the summer break. Following on this achievement, a dedicated laboratory test campaign has started to assess samples manufactured by 3D Printing, Automated Tape Placement (ATP), Adaptive Moulds, Out of Die UV Cured Pultrusion and Continuous Fibre Hot Stamping. Moreover, the first phase of the study of the connection technologies has started. It is carried out in parallel with real-scenario connection techniques development. Once the results from the coupon tests are available, subcomponent level testing and modular assembly in-depth analysis will start.
